okay, how to begin..?
so today is my 2nd most boring day of the year (the 1st is yesterday). of course it is -- i didn't do anything. well that's "Lebay", but the fact is : this last 2 days i only stay at home, sleep, then eat, then watch TV, twitting, facebooking, then sleep again.. don't know why i become so freakin lazy. (of course i took a bath! you realized that i didn't mention it, don't you? :p)
but 1 hour ago is totally different.
(finally) i can go out of the house. i went to Video Ezy, rent 2 VCDs. after that i went to a burger & hotdog stand, which is located in Diponegoro street, near KFC, right next to a semi-permanent fruit stand. (okay, this isn't important. sorry.)
this is what happened 1 hour ago:
i bought 1 double burger, 1 double cheese burger, and 1 double cheese hotdog.
when i asked how much do they cost, the seller said 19.000 rupiahs. so i paid it with 20.000 rupiahs and he gave me 1.000 rupiahs as the change. (so far so right,right?)
then i went home, eat the hotdog and my brother & my cousin eat those burgers. you know what, the hotdog is absolutely delicious! the taste is just right. i can say, that was the best hotdog i ever had in salatiga. (ow yeah, beibehhh! hahaha..)
but then i realized, i didn't pay right. so i went back to the burger stand.
on the way to the stand, i keep thinking what's wrong with 19.000. the only thing i know is "there's no way that each burger/hotdog only cost 6.000". but still don't know if it's right or wrong because i can't remember the pricelist.
as i arrived to the stand, the seller was busy cause there are 4 people queuing. i was waiting like a weirdo doing nothing, so i decided to read the menu. then i was very happy seeing the double cheese burger & double cheese hotdog cost 8.000 rupiahs each.
i didn't know the seller could realize my sightings that fast (of course, i stood right in front of his stove.).
he asked "pesan apa mbak?", ("what do you want to order?")
i replied "umm.. saya nggak mau pesan mas......", ("umm.. i don't want to order.......")
then everyone looked at me
"gini mas, saya justru mau mbayar. tadi kan saya beli 3, tapi masnya cuma ngitung 2." ("so, i wanna pay. i bought 3, but you only asked me to pay for 2.")
he confused, "maksudnya gimana ya mbak?" ("what do you mean?")
i explained to him that i paid 19.000 for 3 items that i've mentioned above, and that's not appropriate.
he asked again. "jadi yang bener kurang berapa ya mbak?" ("okay, so how much should you pay more?")
confidently, i answered "kurangnya 7.000 mas." ("7.000")
the old woman who stand next to me smile and said, "ya ampun mbak, segitunya sampe balik lagi kesini" (i don't know how to translate this, the point is she gave compliment. lalalalalala~ :p)
i gave him 12.000 and he gave me 5.000 as return.
i said sorry that i didn't recheck, he also said sorry and thanks.
big headed, i went back home happily.
but wait. something's wrong. what's mentioned at the pricelist?
double burger : Rp 7.000
double cheese hotdog : Rp 8.000
double cheese burger : Rp 8.000
it supposed to be 23.000!
i've paid 19.000 + 7.000 = 28.000
OH MAAAAAAAAAN! :O
STUPID ME!
this is what i was thinking:
8.000 + 8.000 = 19.000
so i only paid for the double cheese burger and double cheese hotdog
i haven't paid the double burger
what the...................?
end of my stupid silly unbelievably freakin embarrassing story.
the conclusion?
- don't you ever and ever be overconfident after someone give compliment upon you
(OMGOMG! that old woman must be think that i'm a stupid girl that always had 0 on my math class!)
- think twice, oh no. twice isn't enough. think many times before you do something.
- don't be stupid. don't be silly. (you don't wanna be like "1 hour ago" me, right?)
the rest, you conclude by yourself.
hope this pathetic story can be a good life lesson for all of us in the end of 2011.
